12/18/10 - Edison Classic Tournament: The Varsity team placed 1st in the tournament for the first time ever for our program with 10 wrestlers taking medals: 1st place medals: Tom Cundari(140), Colin Farrawell(189), Joey Festa(215), & Anthony Parra(HWT); 2nd place medals: Paul Scully(103), Bobby Hildebrant(112), Mike Randall(125), Craig Cundari(152) & Taylor DelleColle(160); 3rd place medals: Frankie Greco(171). The JV Team place 3rd in the tournament with 8 wrestlers taking medals: 1st place medals: Nick Esposito(103), Joe Cordasco(152), Stephen Hahula(160), Darius Taghavi(171); 2nd place medal: Nick Longo(145); 3rd place medals: Mike Kapotis(125), Dan Marin(135) and Joe McNally(215).
12/30/10 - Bloomfield Tournament: Colin Farawell took 1st place at 189, Anthony Para took 2nd place at HWT, and Joey Festa took 3rd place at 215.

1/29/11 - 2011 Essex County Wrestling Tournament - The tournament featured 21 high schools located in Essex County and Verona placed 6th this year! 1st place medals: Colin Farrawell(189); 2nd place medals: Tom Cundari(140) & Anthony Parra(HWT); 4th place medals: Joey Festa (HWT); 6th place medals: Craig Cundari (152) & Frankie Greco (171); 7th place medals: Paul Scully(103); 8th place medals: Taylor DelleColle (160)!
2/2/11 - WE'RE IN! Congratulations to all the members on this team for qualifing for the 2nd time in Verona wrestling history to participate in the State Sectionals! It shows that we are a solid unit from top to bottom. So let's go out and support our kids on Monday (2/7) in our gym at 7pm against Hasbrouck Heights. Because this is a credit to all the kids, whether they are starters, have stepped into the line up during the season or have been pushing their teammates in the practice room on a daily basis. Good job to all!
2/8/11 - 1 DOWN! 3 TO GO! Great Job on Monday beating a very tough Hasbrouck Heights, winning 34 - 32! It's that time of the year where everybody is banged up and giving their all. It took every bit of effort from each kid and we will need that going forward. Next on the plate is Caldwell at Caldwell on Wednesday. I will be taking attendance, so show up and support the team. GO GET'EM BOYS!

2/11/11 - The Hillbillys WIN the 'LIBERTY DIVISION' in the 'SUPER ESSEX CONFERENCE' by beating Millburn 36 - 32 for the title! Congradulations to all the coaches and kids!
2/14/11 - The regular season has come to an end with a win over Bloomfield and the State Tournament is about to begin. It was a banner year for the Hillbillys! Conference Champs for the second year in a row, 1st team win in the sectionals, 1st tournament team championship, 6th in the counties, best team record 18 - 8 and we have 9 kids with 20 or more wins! It was quite a year for the coaches and kids. We wish you all the best in the States!
2/19/11 - District Records for the Hillbillys! We placed 3rd overall in the Districts, 3 District Champs and had 7 kids advance to the regions! All firsts for the program. District Champs - Taylor DelleColle(160), Colin Farrawell(189) & Anthony Parra(215); 2nd place medals: Paul Scully(103) & Craig Cundari(152): 3rd place medals: Tom Cundari(140) & Frankie Greco(171).
2/22/11 - 3 out of 4 pulled off victories to advance to the quarterfinals in the regions! Tom Cundari(140) pull off a sudden victory with a stand up to move on, Craig Cundari(152) dominated his match 17-3 and Frankie Greco pinned his way to Friday's quarterfinals. So on Friday, 6 of our boys will continue the road to AC and we wish them all the best!
2/24/11 - Congradulations to boys who make all conference! First team: Paul Scully(103), Taylor DelleColle(160), Colin Farawell(189) & Joe Festa(HWT); Second Team: Tom Cundari(140), Craig Cundari(152), Frank Greco(171) & Anthony Parra(215); Honorable Mention: Mike Randall(130). It's nice to be noticed, good job!
3/01/11 - Colin Farawell(189) continues his pursuit for the state tittle by placing 2nd in Region 3 and he almost had some company on his trip to AC. Tom Cundari(140) got some great experience for next year, but came up short on Friday night and Saturday morning. While Craig Cundari(152), Talyor DelleColle(160), Frankie Greco(171) & Anthony Parra(215) all lost on Friday night, won on Saturday morning, but lost their next match on Saturday all coming very close to making the trip. Go get them Colin! And we'll see you on the podium once again in AC!!!
3/07/11 - It seems like I have been saying this all year, so here it goes for the last time; CONGRATULATIONS to Colin Farawell(189) on another great wrestling season! Colin just missed ending up in the final 8 of the state again by one match. He won his first two matches, but unfortunately lost the next two down in AC this past weekend. Colin we are very proud of all of your accomplishments throughout your wrestling career at VHS. GREAT JOB!
